Yoon & Yang LLC received two awards including “Overseas Practice Law Firm of the Year” and “Tax and Trusts Law Firm of the Year” at Korea Law Awards 2020, hosted by Asian Legal Business (ALB), a monthly legal magazine in Asian-Pacific area.
 
Yoon & Yang has received a favorable evaluation and recognized as ‘Overseas Practice Law Firm of the Year’ by performing significant overseas projects in antitrust, international arbitration, international litigation, including successful defense of Ottogi’s litigation regarding consumer’s class action in the US, and successful representation of the Government of the Republic of Korea for ISD arbitration proceedings, which was the country’s first victory among a number of ISD claims. In addition, multiple in-bound M&A and cross-border IPO cases including Taiwanese conglomerate’s successful acquisition of Woongjin Foods in Korea were successfully closed this year.
 
Yoon & Yang’s reputation as the leading tax law firm in Korea was again recognized as ‘Tax and Trusts Law Firm of the Year’ by performing both in-bound and out-bound tax projects such as successful advice Korean company on tax related issues in relation to overseas real estate investment, and successful representation of Korean company in relation to cancellation litigation of a disposition to impose VAT.
 
Korea Law Awards annually recognizes the outstanding law firm, in-house legal teams, and legal practitioners from law firms on 39 categories. Judges and ALB strictly evaluate significant work highlights during the last 12 months to determine the award winner for each category.
