In April 2007, Yoon & Yang LLC established an office in Tokyo, Japan which provides a wide scope of professional legal services under both Japanese and Korean laws for various clients, including, among others, Japanese companies and individuals, Korean companies and individuals conducting business in Japan and Korean residents living in Japan.

Although Korea and Japan are geographically neighboring countries, many aspects of the relationship between the two countries have yet to flourish. In particular, despite the overall similarities in the legal systems, there are many differences in the respective laws and their application, which have caused difficulties in conducting business between the two countries. The firm opened its Tokyo office in order to eliminate such difficulties and to provide efficient and effective legal services, which are achieved in part through cooperation with prominent legal organizations and law firms in Japan.

In-Dong Park, a partner and a former visiting scholar at Waseda University, is the resident partner in the Tokyo office. The outstanding members of the firm’s Japanese practice team include a number of prominent attorneys such as Kong-Woong Choe, a former Chief Judge of the Korean Patent Court, Hae-Wang Jeong, Jung-Suck Ryu and Hee-Chang Lee, who were educated in Japan, as well as Dong-Oh Hong and Wonhyung Kim.
